Snezanka Salad:
Bulgaria’s Creamy Yogurt Classic
Ingredients:
• 1 kg strained yogurt (or 2 kg regular yogurt, strained to yield 1 kg)
• 1 kg fresh, crispy cucumbers (finely chopped)
• 2–3 garlic cloves (minced)
• 2–3 tbsp vegetable oil
• 1/2 tsp salt
• Crushed walnuts (for garnish)
• Fresh dill (finely chopped, for garnish)
Instructions:
1. If using regular yogurt, strain 2 kg overnight to obtain 1 kg thick yogurt.
2. In a large bowl, mix the strained yogurt with the finely chopped cucumbers.
3. Add the minced garlic, vegetable oil, and salt. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
4. Transfer the salad to a serving dish and garnish with crushed walnuts and freshly chopped dill.
5. Serve chilled as a refreshing appetizer or side dish.
