PM Modi is currently on a U.S. visit to participate in the UNGA Summit being held in New York. During his visit, the Prime Minister addressed a gathering of Indian diaspora. He spoke about a variety of things with the group, highlighting that India has now become a force to reckon with. He also announced opening of new consulates in Boston and Los Angeles, and referred to the upcoming U.S. presidential elections in November while also recounting the historical democratic elections held in India recently. In his focus on the impetus on growth and development in India, PM Modi referred to the acronym ‘PUSHP’, the emphasis on the semi-conductor sector, as well as several other themes. He will be in the U.S. till September 23rd.
