A couple summers back I had a great time playing music around Scotland with Massachusetts fiddler Katie McNally and DC guitarist Conor Hearn. We discovered this incredible natural harbour in Caithness in the north of Scotland, thanks to the folks at our show at the nearby Lyth Arts Center. Whaligo harbour was used as a port to bring in herring in the 1800s and these steps were built to take the herring on foot to the town of Wick, 8 miles away!
