In this vieo, I take a look at Proto-Indo-European ancestry in Ancient, Medieval, and contemporary Iranians utilizing the latest available genetic, as reflected in the autosomal breakdowns featured, which were done using Davidski's G25 Calculator through the Vahaduo database. The Steppe component featured in this analysis was of nearly unadmixed Proto-Indo-European origin from the Corded Ware Culture. Regarding the results, the Ancient Iron age Iranians from Central Asia, particularly those from Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, were primarily of Caucasian Iranian and Steppe descent. Thus, the Ancient Aryans were a hybridized populations between the native Iranian farmers of the BMAC culture and Indo-Europeans. As for the Ancient Iron Age Iranian samples from northwestern Iran, they were primarily descended from Caucasian Iranians, though, with additional Anatolian, Levant Natufian, and Steppe ancestry. The Medieval Iranians were similar to these populations. Finally, concerning contemporary Iranians, they are primarily descended from the same ancestral groups as the Iron Age Iranians, though, with negligible amounts of South and East Asian ancestry. Overall, genetically, there is 90 to 95% genetic continuity among the majority of Iranians, including the Kurds and Azerbaijanis.
