A Baltimore police officer shot a teenager who was believed to be armed with a weapon Thursday afternoon in Shipley Hill. Baltimore Deputy Police Commissioner Rich Worley said officers were on McHenry Street around 1:25 p.m. Thursday when they approached a 17-year-old boy who they believed was armed. The boy immediately ran away and officers gave chase through several alleys, ordering the teen to drop the weapon, Worley said. Worley said one officer fired more than one gunshots, hitting the person in the 2500 block of Frederick Avenue. The teen was taken to a hospital, where he is in critical condition.
