#UkrainianSu27P was shot down by #RussianSu30 or friendly fire
Ukrainian Su-27P soviet-origin twin-engine supermaneuverable fighter aircraft was shot down over Orikhiv, Zaporizhzhya Oblast on June 5. There is a video that claims that the footage was recorded from the plane crash. The Ukrainian Air Force has officially confirmed the news, initially claiming that the downed plane was Russian. Su-27P is a standard version but without an air-to-ground weapons control system.

Field sources reported that the downed Su-27R was in service with the Ukrainian 39th Tactical Aviation Brigade. It is not known whether the fighter pilot managed to eject, or died as a result of a missile strike or a fall to the ground. Various sources claim that there are two possibilities for the accident: either the Ukrainian Su-27P lost a battle in the air with a Russian fighter [some suggest a Su-30] or friendly fire from a ground air defense system hit the plane. In any case, so far there is no official statement from both Russia and Ukraine about the reason for the downing of the fighter.
