A day of waterfall hopping from the unbeatable view of a BushCat. First, we visit Augrabies Falls, a waterfall on the Orange River and among the most breathtaking sights in all of Africa. In demonstration of its awesome power, the Orange thunders down a 56-meter high sheer rock wall and then, in a spectacular misty tumble of cataracts, into a turbulent, granite enclosed pool 240 meters below. Its name means "the place of big noises" and it sure is a loud talker. We then, fly in our BushCat to the northern tip of Namibia to check out Epupa Falls. It looks like a smaller, tighter Iguazu, but without the walkways, crowds or lights--raw and remote. Near the falls is a Himba village, peopled by one of the last semi-nomadic tribes on the continent. Why do we so admire the unfettered life of the Himba and their kin? Perhaps because we are travelers from birth.
