Heart failure, or congestive heart failure (CHF), is a condition that causes the heart to pump blood less efficiently. Symptoms include shortness of breath, fatigue, swollen legs, and tachycardia. Coronary artery disease, hypertension, kidney disease, heart attack, and cardiomyopathy can cause CHF. Lifestyle changes and treatment can improve the symptoms and quality of life of patients.
