Fuengirola is a popular tourist destination in southern Spain, and probably one of the most popular travel destinations due to its proximity to the beach on the Costa del Sol. Just south of downtown, the Moorish Sohail Castle dominates the shoreline and serves as the setting for summertime concerts, festivals, and a medieval market. Bioparc Fuengirola is a naturalistic zoo close to the Plaza de Toros bullring that houses animals from Asia and Africa as well as a recreated rainforest clearing.
