Range Rover SVR Conversion Gloss Paint to Matte using Xpel PPF

Full car Range Rover SVR paint conversion from gloss black paint to matte finish using Xpel Stealth PPF and custom PPF installation for the SVR bonnet, combining gloss PPF (Xpel Ultimate Plus) in the centre of the carbon bonnet, with Xpel Stealth PPF for a matte finish on the sides.

SVR Conversion from gloss paint to matte, you've probably seen it before. The biggest challenge was when our client asked us to protect the center of the carbon fiber bonnet with gloss PPF, and the sides of gloss black paint with stealth PPF through which to get a matte finish.

The biggest challenge was the joints between PPF Gloss and Matte, which must be perfectly joined, without any visible space or overlapping. The middle of the bonnet has those vents where the tension on the film is quite high, making it quite difficult to install a pre-cut kit, but at the same time we did not want to cut the film directly on the car ... but we found the right solution .

After the middle of the bonnet was installed with Gloss PPF, we started installing Matte PPF and as in the first stage, we looked for the most efficient solution for an exceptional result and to minimise the cutting of the film on the car. That's why only in the curved area we chose to carefully cut with with surgical precision the Matte PPF, being guided and helped by the edge of the glossy film that kept the matte film high, thus reducing the risk of cutting too deep.

Why was this custom project so special? Exactly because of the shape of this Range Rover SVR bonnet, on which you can't install a pre-cut kit, only bulk. And on the sides of the hood there are 3 challenges:

- The surface on the sides of the hood is very narrow.
- It has that convex corner where the film has to be stretched a lot.
- The joint with Gloss and Matte PPF must be impeccable, without gaps or overlaps.

.... and it is impossible to use a pre-cut kit!
