Edmonton, Alberta rockers Sparrow Blue unveil their brand new single, “Hold Me Down”, November 24th. The single will be accompanied with a music video showcasing the band like you’ve never seen them before, working alongside Brody LaPlante of Visuals by Mind to create a piece of work that jointly tells a tale of wickedness, sacrifice and the challenge of faith
Vue Weekly describes Sparrow Blue as, “A throwback of old school classic rock and blues, mixed in a more modern sound.”
“Hold Me Down’” comes hot off the heels of the cross-Canada “Outta The Nest Tour”, and showcases the energy and hunger felt throughout the tour. The 6 piece rock band recorded the track in their newly built studio, “The Blue Room”, giving them the space and time to execute the finest details of this ferocious rocker. Desmond Parks, lead singer of Sparrow Blue, describes the song as an analysis of one's belief system, specifically a belief system that is being challenged. “How much faith do you have in what you believe? If that faith is tested, how would you endure the potential unravelling of your beliefs?” The single comes out November 24th, along with the accompanying music video directed, produced and filmed by Edmonton local and longtime collaborator, Brody LaPlante of Visuals by Mind. The band and Brody worked hard in bringing this story to life on the screen and the result is one of Sparrow Blue’s most visually striking videos to date.
With influences such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin and Mountain, the band’s hard-rock music and high-energy performances has resulted in sharing stages in Western Canada with renowned artists such as Finger Eleven, The Sheepdogs, Default, Rick Springfield and more.
