Today we trimmed the hooves on our Nigerian Dwarf Goats. We have five Nigerian Dwarf Goats on our small farm. Goats need their hooves trimmed periodically or else the hoof wall will become overgrown and overlap the pad which can trap mud, dirt, and feces and cause hoof rot. Hoof rot is a severe issue for goats that can cause lameness. Trimming a goat's hooves is not a difficult task when done using the correct tools. We provide tips that any beginner goat owner can use to trim their goat's hooves.
