Did you know this about WIllem Dafoe’s performance in American Psycho? When filming the scene where Willem Dafoe’s character meets with and questions Patrick Batemen, director Mary Harron did the scene in three takes and each time had Dafoe change his performance so that he would be confident Bateman was guilty in one, undecided in another, and completely oblivious in the last one. She then cut all three takes together to reflect how Bateman was perceiving his interview.
