The Electoral Commission on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, declared Faustina Elikplim Akurugu, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, as the Member of Parliament-elect for Dome-Kwabenya.

This decision resolves the long-standing disagreements between the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the election results in the constituency.

After an emergency meeting of the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) on Tuesday, 31 December, EC Chairperson Jean Mensa announced that the electoral process for Dome-Kwabenya had been completed and finalised.
