Sky News host Chris Kenny says Treasurer Jim Chalmers’ new budget is “weird and reckless” as it is set to be the Labor Treasurer’s “last ever” surplus.
“If you want an insight into how weird and reckless this budget is, think about how smiley and happy Jim Chalmers looks while he admits this will be his last ever budget surplus,” Mr Kenny said.
“What are they doing with that good fortune? Well they are frittering it away, baking in long-term spending so Chalmers has actually forecast four large deficits across the following years.”
