Here is a good old Midland 3001 precision series set from 1982, using the Maxon built chassis.
Radio ended up at 3.9W @ 13.8V . Receive was better than spec.
On this set, the reference crystal had to be replaced as it had dropped under acceptable frequency range (27.79062 on ch 20 rather than 27.79125Mhz). This was replaced with one from a set the customer had previously donated to this channel as scrap, so no charge for this part.
On receive, the I.F. was considerably out. Realignment provided a full cure.
