The Apprentice of the Year Award, sponsored by Seetec Outsource, is open to employees of BIFA Member companies who are following a recognised apprenticeship programme such as the Freight Forwarding Specialist. The finalists were invited to meet virtually with the judging panel and make a presentation on the difference that the apprenticeship had made to themselves and their employers. The finalists are: Chloe Hamlett of Charles Kendall Freight; Eloise Hill of DHL Global Forwarding; Stuart Lupton of DHL Global Forwarding; Ben Milligan of DHL Global Forwarding; Ryan Wilkes of Kuehne + Nagel, and Harry Wilson of Ligentia Global.
The Young Freight Forwarder of the Year Award, sponsored by Virgin Atlantic Cargo, is open to individuals, under the age of 32, working for BIFA Member companies. In their submissions, the entrants showed a range of skills covering all aspects of international freight forwarding. The winner of this category becomes the UK nomination to the FIATA / TT Club Young International Freight Forwarder of the Year Award 2021. The finalists are: Jack Coope of B&H Worldwide; Sam Greenhalgh of Zencargo; Katy Hopkinson of Kuehne + Nagel; Zoe Lowe of Kerry Logistics; Keegan Starkey of Specialist Logistics Services, and Beckie Vallance of Geodis.
The Staff Development Award is sponsored by Albacore Systems and recognises those companies that detail their staff development plans and understand that people are a company’s most valuable asset.
