On August 9, 2024, Miami Township Police Sgt. Tobias observed the driver of a Kia make a wide turn and drive up on the grassy area between the roadway and sidewalk. In addition, the Kia allegedly almost struck Sgt. Tobias' patrol vehicle. He was able to catch up to the Kia as it pulled into a driveway. The Kia was being driven by a 21-year-old woman who was already driving on a suspended license for a DUI arrest less than 1 month prior. She denied doing anything wrong and claimed she was not drinking. She was asked to perform field sobriety tests and was then arrested for DUI in front of her mother and father. She was transported to the Miami Township police station, where she refused to submit to an evidential breath test. Her charges and the outcome of the case are discussed at the end of the video.
