According to the Department of Public Relations of Pakistan Army (ISPR), DGISI Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed has been appointed Corps Commander Peshawar after a high-level transfer in the army.
Lt Gen Mohammad Amir Commander has been posted as Corps Commander Gujranwala and Lt Gen Asim Munir as Quartermaster General.
Lt Gen Faiz Hameed was appointed DGISI in June 2019. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General in April 2019.
Who has been appointed in his place in the secret agency ISI has not been announced yet, but the discussion in this regard has been going on for two days on social media.
Before posting as DGISI, he was holding the post of Adjutant General at GHQ. The announcement was made a day after a meeting of corps commanders in Rawalpindi.
Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed belongs to Chakwal. After passing out in the army, he became a part of the Baloch Regiment.
Earlier, he was also Chief of Staff of Ten Corps in Rawalpindi, General Officer Commanding in Puno Aqil, and DG Counter Intelligence (CI) Section in ISI.
Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed has also been honored with the Hilal-e-Imtiaz military award by the President of Pakistan.
