The new BMW i5 is being manufactured at the BMW Group Plant Dingolfing in Germany, which happens to be the automaker’s largest European production site. This exciting addition to BMW’s all-electric lineup is a mid-sized sedan, positioned between the i4 and i7 models. The Dingolfing site has a rich history, celebrating 50 years of BMW automotive production in 2023. It’s fitting that the i5 joins this legacy of excellence. The share of pure battery-electric vehicles in total production at this European manufacturing location is expected to increase to over 40 percent next year. This shift toward e-mobility reflects the BMW Group’s commitment to sustainable practices. The integration of the BMW i5 required substantial investments-over one billion euros-in the Dingolfing vehicle plant. These investments pave the way for a future where e-mobility becomes the norm.
