Decarbonisation is a key challenge facing the railway and over the last two years there has been significant work by industry, the supply chain, RSSB and RIA to develop a decarbonisation strategy to achieve the Government's target of removing all diesel only trains from the network by 2040, and making the network net zero by 2050.
