This online event explored the challenges to environmental peacebuilding in Colombia during COVID-19, the effects of the pandemic on social dynamics around land and the protection of environmental defenders, and ways that indigenous communities are comprehending and managing these threats.
The session was moderated by Miguel Londoño, Senior Program Officer at Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI). It brought together three distinguished panelists:
1. Frank Pearl, Former Minister of Environment, Peace Negotiator with FARC/ELN, and High Commissioner to the President for Reintegration of Ex-combatants
2. Wendy Arenas, Former Senior Environmental Advisor to the Post-Conflict´s Presidential High Commissioner, Activist and Managing Director of Alysos (Alliance for Sustainability in the Amazon)
3. Jimena Puyana, Environmental Analyst, United Nations Development Programme
This event is part of the "Road to Geneva" Colombia Arc, a series of dialogues on environmental peacebuilding in Colombia.
