Gary Johnson, the Libertarian Party presidential nominee and former New Mexico governor, made a crazy mistake on Thursday morning, September 8th 2016 during an interview on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" program. The conversation was in the realm of foreign policy, and one of the men on the panel asked Mr. Johnson "what would you do about Aleppo?" Gary Johnson then asks..."what is Aleppo?" Stunned, the man who asked the question, and the rest of the panel, gave the camera dead air for a quick moment. The man who originally asked the question went on to explain that Aleppo is a city in Syria which is the epicenter of violence emanating from terrorism.
After he was explained what Aleppo is, the answer he gave wasn't really bad. But his answer was truly unimportant, due to the fact that he didn't even know what Aleppo was at all when he was asked the question initially. It wasn't even like he just didn't know where Aleppo was at the time, which would still be terrible for a Presidential candidate to not have basic world geography under his belt. But Gary Johnson didn't even realize that Aleppo is a city. Much later, after the interview was over when he was questioned about the flub on "The View" he told the women on the panel that he thought about the acronym of Aleppo. Of course, he did not explain what that expanded-out version of the acronym was. Therefore, it seems like he was just covering his tracks and hiding his ignorance of basic facts.
How is it possible for a man who is running for President to have never have heard of a major city in a country of which the United States is currently involved with conflict? Especially since Gary Johnson has been in politics since 1994, where he became Governor of Arizona which was a post he held for nearly a decade. What has he been doing the past 26 years of politics? Johnson has said that he's an avid weed smoker. Maybe the government money has gone towards his drug habit? Even though he says he's stopped smoking marijuana during his campaign run, maybe the rumors of marijuana causing negative effects on the brain are true after all?
Either way, Johnson never had a chance of winning. Only of being the spoiler, which may be his role, and he could be getting paid to do so via proxy by way of his running mate Bill Weld, by way of the CFR (of which Weld is a chair) by way of the Clinton (Crime) Foundation, since Bill Weld has known Hillary as a close and personal friend since the 1970s during the Watergate Scandal.
This most recent even should put all of that funny business to rest, giving Trump and Hillary a more even shot at the prize without Gary Johnson playing a significant role at all.
