What children learn at home may determine their progress at school. Some do not do as well as others at primary and secondary schools because they had no education during the first five years of their lives.
This film, mainly of Maori children and backgrounds, shows what parents can do to prepare children for the school years ahead, and suggests also how important it is for parents to be aware of this responsibility. Commended by educationists for its sensitive approach and understanding, the film is of particular interest to parent-teacher organisations.
