A U.S. lawmaker joined in clean-up efforts in the aftermath of Wednesday's insurrection on the U.S. Capitol, where four people died and dozens more were arrested.
New Jersey congressman Andy Kim was pictured assisting cleanup crews at the Capitol early Thursday morning.
Rep. Kim said he felt "frightened for our country," after Wednesday's mob attack on the US Capitol.
"I was just very sad for our nation that we had gotten to this point where we had seen one of the greatest buildings in the world desecrated and see this insurrection that had infiltrated such sacred land in our country," Kim told the Associated Press.
An estimate of the mess and wreckage inside the government building has not yet been determined.
Both Congressional chambers worked through the night after order was restored to eventually certify President-elect Joe Biden's Electoral College victory.
