The US State Department has announced that US officials will meet with a delegation of Taliban representatives in Doha this week to discuss the economy, security, and women's rights.
The meeting will also discuss humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, security issues, stabilization of the Afghan economy, and curbing drug production and trafficking.
The US State Department says that US Special Representative for Afghanistan Thomas West and Afghan Women, Girls, and Human Rights Envoy Reena Amiri will meet with the Taliban delegation.
According to reports, Thomas West and Reena Amiri are visiting Kazakhstan and Qatar from July 26 to 31.
It should be noted that the Taliban have returned to power in Afghanistan after the completion of the American withdrawal in August 2021.
