On Sunday, commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal said the country will achieve its $2 trillion in goods and services export target by 2030. At the Chennai Exporters Conclave, Goyal also stated that India will become a $30 trillion economy with 25% exports by 2047.
According to the data released by the commerce industry on Friday, India's merchandise exports grew 4.82 percent to $35.45 billion. Exports rose 16.96% to $231.88 billion in April–September 2022.
He also requested the minister to introduce the export refinance facility for banks to refinance export credit at the repo rate.
During the session, exporters raised many issues related to the rising cost of raw materials and subdued demand in certain key export markets and the need for more support for the exporters in this difficult time.
As per reports, the industry participants were assured that the government is committed to addressing the issues raised by them.
