Join us for a Cadgroup Webinar where we’ll present Part 1 of a series of practical demonstrations on advanced functions and features in Revit Component Families. In this session, we’ll explore 2 powerful tools that bring control and automation to your families!
Conditional Formulas
Revit has a range of Formulas that we can use in Families that allow us to “test” the values that an end user enters (Instance Property) or which are imposed by a Type Property. The result of the Conditional Formula can then be used to constrain values or create an on/off switch which might be used to cause an element to be displayed visibly and be Scheduled.
Automatic Constraints
This function allows you to set realistic ranges of values inside a Revit Family. It follows on as a result of the previous discussion on Conditional Formulas. This function assists you in creating Families that won’t break when used inside the Project environment. It also allows you to set real-world sizing of objects so that your Content reflects real-world manufactured or constructable objects. We’ll look at how to construct these Constraints and some of the tips on how to get them to work properly.
