Pressure is mounting for the North West Department of Economic Development, Environment, Conservation, and Tourism to appoint a board for the newly merged North West Parks and Tourism Board. Members of Parliament's Portfolio Committee on Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment have raised concerns about the delays in appointing the Board for the state entity entrusted with spearheading conservation and tourism in the Province. The department appeared virtually before Parliament's Portfolio Committee following the theft of 51 Rhino horns at the offices of the North West Parks and Tourism Board in Mahikeng.
