THIS SUMMER, THE BRUSSELS FLOWER CARPET IS BACK AT LAST!
Following an absence of almost two years, the Flower Carpet is about to take shape once more, transforming the cobblestones of the Grand-Place in Brussels into a glorious sight for all to admire. A nod to its origins, symbolised by a contemporary interpretation of the very first carpet, created in 1971!

12 August, 15:00-18:00 (last admission: 17:30)
13-15 August, 10:00-22:00 (last admission: 21:30)
A PUZZLE OF 1680 SQUARE METRES
The Flower Carpet is 70 m long by 24 m wide. 1,680 m² fun of begonias, dahlias, grass and bark.
About 120 volunteers assembled the carpet in less than 4 hours.
Symbols: The archangel Saint-Michael patron saint of Brussels, and the Belgian Lion watch over the carpet.
Dimensions: The carpet is 70 m long by 24 m wide, totaling 1680 m2 of enchantment.
Flowers: About 1 million Begonias – not to mention bark and greenery – went into its creation.
History: Since its 1971 beginnings the Grand-Place has hosted 22 flower carpets on as many themes.
