Throttle position information is a critical part of engine management. The throttle position sensor (TPS) provides the ECU with the engine intake air volume feedback that is used in conjunction with engine RPM feedback to determine the amount of fuel that is to be injected. If the TPS Min and TPS Max values are not set correctly within the ECU, the ECU will inject an incorrect amount of fuel into the engine for the current throttle position and engine RPM.
