In this video I take you through the Toronto Zoo. There are obviously way more animals then featured here. We went on a Tuesday afternoon, just as the school groups were leaving. It was a hot day, so many of the animals were taking naps. We also somehow missed the Penguins - they are in Africa - but were too tired to go back.
It is easiest if you can rent a car and drive to the Zoo. However, it is accessible by transit. You can go to Kennedy station and then take the 86A bus that will take you to the front gates of the Zoo. It is best to check the Zoo's website for times and other options.
The Zoo is huge - so much walking. You can rent strollers at the Zoo if you have young children. There is also the Zoomobile. This takes you from each of the areas to the next. There are some animals that you see only from the Zoomobile. There is a fee, but we enjoyed it.
You can bring in your own food - there are picnic areas - or purchase food there.
During July and August the splash pad is open, so consider bringing bathing suits. There is also a kids zoo where you can pet some animals.
