The new technology is called RangeXchange, and it lets other EV brands enjoy Lucid's class-leading 500-mile range.
Lucid just announced a new RangeXchange vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) adapter that will allow owners to charge other electric vehicles using their Lucid Air, with the automaker cheekily showing off an Air recharging a Tesla Model S.
The Air's battery pack ranges from 92 kWh to 118 kWh with up to 516 miles of range, depending on trim level, meaning it has plenty of juice to spare in a pinch for another EV owner who can't make it home with their current state of charge. In the game of electric vehicle "Mine is bigger than yours" Lucid is pulling no punches showing off the size of its... battery.
"I'm delighted that Lucid continues to innovate, enabled by our integrated fusion of software and hardware," said Peter Rawlinson, CEO and CTO of Lucid. "RangeXchange is a small step to further enhance the everyday usability of the electric vehicle."
