"I grew up hearing about my grandmother from my mother,” says Darnell Ellis, the great great great granddaughter of Amey Greenwood Phillips. "They always talked about her being small in stature, a strong woman and I wish there were some pictures of her because I can make up in my mind what I think she looked like, but I would just love to see a picture of her."
