Day 17 of the #YETI30in30 video series and this one has the guest star of Jacob from our Graphic Design team.
Anyway, ignore him and focus on the tip which is all about press releases and if you really need them or not. As you will see in the video, press releases can actually sometimes get in the way and slow things down but there are ways around them.
Have a watch and let me know what you think.

Do you even need a press release?
So thanks very much for taking part ninths entirely staged conversation just for this video. When it comes to colouring in, don’t go over the lines.
So, when it comes to press releases it is really straight forward, do you actually need one. Probably not.
When I used to work for a listed company or a regulated company, when I had a press release that needed signing off it would go to legal, it would go to compliance and it would take ages.
So quite often I would just send a summary email over to the journalist with enough bullet points and facts so that they could write the story up or, dare I say it, get on the phone, old school, and try and sell in the story that way.
Didn’t need a press release, all the facts were sent over afterwards and it dodged legal and compliance. Probably should not say that out loud.
Thank you very much see you tomorrow.
