Leaving from "The Grid" at Westfield, pulling out past the Depot and Marshalling Yards, turning around on the West Backshunt next to the Railweld Depot, follow this Empty Service to Auckland via Glen Innes, passing through the Purewa Tunnel and over the picturesque Orakei Basin, and the Ports of Auckland Yard.

Points to note:

Electrification on this line has still got a wee way to go. All mast bases are in place, but most masts have not yet been put up.

Electrification Gear (Spans, Masts etc) stored in the Auckland Port Yard.

The new Strand Stabling Yard more or less complete at Quay Park Junction (minus Electrification).
