From Mawar Bakery, local vans go to various destinations, Bukit Lawang and Tangkahan included. Enroute, the journey passes through beautiful scenery. One can even strike up a conversation with a local. To get to Bukit Lawang, one can also take a shared taxi or hire a private car.
