LHT flashlight store sent me replacement driver to fix my previous problem (automatically brightening & dimming in certain modes).
After I changed to the replacement driver, it only has Low & High modes (half-pressing the button results in Low-High-High-High).
Measuring the tailcap current in Low mode gives 0.67A while the High mode is at least 10.8A (!)

Update (pardon the extremely late update, which was last year already):
After mentioning the problem to LHT, they asked me to send back the 2 malfunctioning drivers) -- 1) the initial one's problem is that Low "magically" automatically ramps to High mode (even though this is not a "ramping" type of flashlight
2) the second one is this mentioned one which has the Low-High and High is using a LOT of current.
After sending back the 2 defective units to LHT, they sent me a new unit, which now works properly. It's now over a year and the replaced KDLitker C8.2 still behaves properly, no issues at all.
