The weekend of the 18th-21st of April saw the annual Spring Steam Gala return to the Severn Valley Railway. I made a visit on the Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately, star attraction 6880 "Betton Grange" did not achieve completion in time for the event. As a result, SVR stalwart 34027 "Taw Valley (aka 21C127) was brought back for one last hurrah before her boiler ticket expired. She was joined by visiting locomotives No. 29 Lambton Tank (courtesy of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway), GWR 0-6-0 Pannier tank No. 1369 (courtesy of the South Devon Railway) and LBSCR Terrier A1x No. 72 "Fenchurch" (courtesy of the Bluebell Railway).
Guest locos where joined by the home fleet of GWR No. 4930 "Hagley Hall", 57xx No. 7714 (not featured), No. 7812 "Erlestoke Manor" & 4MT No. 75069 and newly repainted Stanier Mogul No. 13268 in beautiful LMS lined black livery. Unfortunately, she failed in the morning of the Sunday (due to an ashpan failure I believe) and so was replaced in the timetable by 4MT No. 75069.
However, this did make for an fascinating light engine movement at 07:12 with 7714 and 75069 running in tandem from Bridgnorth MPD down to Bewdley!
All footage in this video was taken on Sunday 21st April at Eardington Bank, Hay Bridge, Crossing Cottage, Bewdley Tunnel and Rifle Range.
