Congratulations to Thomas Arciero, the 2023 John R. Gardner Special Recognition Award winner. The award honours a player who has experienced a significant event in their lives and managed to overcome adversity.
Thomas played for the U16 AA Toronto Eagles this past season, after spending the last five years playing AAA in the GTHL. This past year, Thomas lost his father, Angelo. With the support of his mom, sisters, extended family, friends, and teammates, he was able to continue playing hockey. His father was Thomas’ biggest fan and a big believer in seeing a commitment through regardless of any obstacles or circumstances that are presented along the way.
