Labor MP Marion Scrymgour says an alcohol ban policy to combat the Alice Springs crime crisis isn’t “race-based” as it becomes “race-based when there’s inaction”.
“When people don’t do what they should be doing, it becomes race-based,” Ms Scrymgour told Sky News Australia.
“We need to make sure this is a community issue.
“The Northern Territory government has to step up here, and they have to do the work that they need to do.”
