I recently came across the term 'interspirituality', which seems to be chiefly associated with the writing of Wayne Teasdale, a monk who was involved in 'inter-faith dialogues' and an approach to religion which seemed to draw on the perennial traditions. A key aspect of this 'interspirituality' appears to be the focussing not on the details of dogma and the different scriptural narratives but on the spiritual condition, which seems to be a state of non-duality. I'm wondering to what extent this constititues what most people would actually consider a religion. I suspect that many adherents of christianity for example would say that religion was less about the attainment of some kind of enlightened non-dual state and more about witnessing to the literal truth of various biblical claims regarding the existence of Jesus Christ. I'm also wondering what kind of a relationship to what kind of world is being forged in this entering of non-duality.
