Longtime Sylvania Firefighter, Jeff Young, passed away after a 15-year battle with cancer on Wednesday.
On Sunday, friends and family gathered to remember and honor him.
For much of the time Young was battling cancer he was employed full-time by the Sylvania Fire Department.
"Jeff was a mentor to many people at the department but he was more than that to me. I credit Jeff with my entire success in the fire service," said Sylvania Township Assistant Fire Chief Jeffrey Bennett.
