Ubixpay is a lightweight wallet designed with the help of three innovative technologies. These are self-sovereign identity, digital footprint and decentralized identifiers.
Self-Sovereign Identity is a set of information about an individual that he/she can manage, share with any private individuals or public institutions, and revoke access to that information any time at will.
The implementation of this technology allows users to transfer funds via a certain public attribute (the so-called Social ID, you can see the list of all acceptable identifiers in the sandbox).
How does it work? In the DID document, for each matching (mapping) of the wallet address and Social ID, it is indicated who registered it. The list of such matchings is stored in the service's database. Thus, they become available the moment transfers are processed.
From the point of view of basic functionality, Ubixpay is similar to other online wallets: MEW, Metamask or Rainbow. However, it differs in that it not only ETH allows you to transfer digital assets by Social ID. By default, the user undergoes a simplified registration procedure only in the Ubixpay wallet.
There are three main options for using the service: send and receive payments, including by Social ID, and purchase digital assets issued within the UBIX Ecosystem. The issuance of digital assets takes place on the Ubix Network in the 4Tokens service.
Unlike a number of other wallets (for example, Coinbase) that store the seed phrase on the server, Ubixpay is a self-custody wallet. That is, the seed is stored locally in encrypted form in a special storage on the user's device.
The source of income for token holders is the commission profit of the service. It is distributed in accordance with the share of tokens held.
