So what is a design basis? As the name suggests, it is a basis of design. I don’t want to throw the words back, but as per first principles when you just want to make anything, then you should know what to follow. It is like a standard for designing, but like a manual or a reference book. But it is a small document, typically spanning 20 to 25 pages, which lists the best engineering practices for designing the plant.
