A 2D LBM simulation with fluid-solid interaction at Reynolds 100.
The grid size was 1290 X 1410 and the resolution D/dx 30, where D is the diameter of the largest cylinders and dx the lattice constant.
The inlet velocity had a parabolic profile with average velocity of 0.11 enforced by mean s of a non-equilibrium bounce back rule. The oulet boundary pressure was set to 1. The no-slip condition is applied to top and bottom channel walls via the standard bounce back rule.
The color indicates the magnitude of vorticity, scaled logarithmically as 100log(1 + f) with f = |curl V|, where f is the magnitude of vorticity and V the local fluid velocity.
