Mayor Tom Koch with a Quincy, COVID Update for Wednesday, 12-02-20
Full Transcript... Hello Quincy. Mayor Tom Koch here with our Covid-19 update. I trust people had a good Thanksgiving. A little quieter than normal but the turkey still tasted good. Just an update as far as today goes. You've seen on what we show each time on the numbers and graphs, we see what's going on in the state and in the country, the numbers continue to rise. Parts of the country are in very challenging situations. We are seeing an increase in hospitalizations. Around Massachusetts there are communities that are very much higher than Quincy on the positivity rate and cases, there's an old saying that we can control what we can control. That comes down to this issue for us. When you look at the numbers there are 60 new cases today. The cases that continue are of something that we can't necessarily control as a society but we can something something about it as individuals. I know people are tired of hearing about it but we see still a lot of people that don't wear the masks, don't follow the rules. Wearing the mask is very, very important. Washing your hands. Social distancing. Please just don't let your guard down. If you're not afraid of it, think about others. you could be carrying it and somebody else could get sick from that. Folks, we are in a decent place in Quincy in light of what's happening around us. The positivity rate just under 2.7is below the state average. Well below many of the cities in Massachusetts and many of the towns. But the numbers are climbing so please I encourage you to do the best you can. You and your loved ones to follow the guidelines and follow the rules. Until next time, stay well. God bless.
