Hello and welcome to Part 1 of my journey along the East Coast Mainline on-board Virgin Trains East Coast 82229 with 91124 propelling the service along from Doncaster to Peterborough.

This was the 16:17 service that originated from Leeds and would call at Wakefield Westgate, Doncaster, Peterborough and London Kings Cross.

During part 1 we depart Doncaster and pass through the freight yard seeing plenty of GBRF class 66 locomotives with 1 Freightliner 66, during the remainder of the journey we thunder through the countryside where we see some of the affects of the heavy rainfall that the country has been experiencing lately. After this we storm through the stations of Retford, Newark Northgate and Grantham before ending the film north of Marholm, part 2 will continue on from there.
