Google Spreadsheet - "Comment" Feature
You can attach comments to specific cells inside the google spreadsheet.
Ask questions to collaborators, or make notes to help with the revision and editing process.
To insert a comment:
Highlight a cell, then go to the “Insert Menu” and choose "Comment" or press on your keyboard “Ctrl + Alt + M”
A little comment box will appear and you can begin typing your comment.
Click "Comment" when finished.
Cells with comments are shaded with orange on the upper-right corner, and comments on those cells can be revealed by mousing-over a cell.
Anyone with access on the spreadsheet can reply to the comment by clicking into the field, typing their comment, and clicking ”Reply”.
Note that only the person who posted the comment can edit or delete it, using the links below the comment.
You can also tag anyone in your comments by typing the “@” sign, selecting from the dropbox or typing their name.
--------------------------------
To mark a comment as completed or to remove it from the cell, click "Resolve"
Unlike deleting your comment, resolving saves it together with responses.
You can view commenting history by clicking "Comments" at the upper-right of the page.
Resolved comments have a checked mark next to them
Click the “Re-open” link to add the comment back to the cell on the spreadsheet where others can add responses.
--------------------------------
You can also use the "Comments" to jump within other comments on the spreadsheet.
Select a comment, then click it, and it will direct you the cell with the comment.
In case comments are not needed anymore, you can delete them.
