The renaming of India is "just the beginning", the BJP's CP Joshi told NDTV today amid buzz that the country could now be called "Bharat". During an exclusive interaction with NDTV during the launch of its Rajasthan channel, the veteran leader was asked about the buzz that has set off a political storm. "This is just the beginning," Mr Joshi said, without elaborating.
NDTV has launched its regional channel for Rajasthan. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, BJP veteran Vasundhara Raje, actor Ayushmann Khurrana and other big names were in attendance to mark the grand opening. The channel will not just focus on the politics of the state but provide all-round coverage of key issues. The focus will be on ground reports to give the people a much-needed voice. NDTV will focus on hyperlocal issues, on subjects that matter to the youth, on gender and climate and on providing incisive coverage of cities and villages. NDTV's legacy of covering elections from the ground and intelligent analysis gives the regional channel a global touch.
